Temecula GWSS monitoring - Early August

Three rounds of trapping were conducted since the last update, with a total of 55, 177, and 218 GWSS caught on 131 traps deployed in citrus groves and select vineyards throughout the valley. An increase in GWSS activity over this time period is typical for the region. GWSS counts are now slightly above, if delayed a bit, compared to historic averages. Thus far they remain far below those from last year, which were among the highest seen for at least 20 years

seasonal counts

55 traps captured at least one GWSS adult over the three rounds of trapping, up to 33 on an individual trap. Overall average captures are mapped below. 9 traps captured more than 5 GWSS on average, primarily in the Northeast portion of the study area
